R-1234YF (2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene) is a single-component HFO refrigerant designed to replace R-134a in mobile air-conditioning and selected stationary applications while delivering near-zero climate impact.

Key properties
• Ultra-low GWP ≈ 4 (IPCC AR6) and zero ODP 
• Boiling point –29 °C; operating pressures almost identical to R-134a 
• Mildly flammable (ASHRAE A2L); ignition-proof tools recommended 
• Net 10 lb / 20 lb disposable cylinders common (cylinder + packaging ≈ 15–26 lb)

Applications
• OEM standard in all new EU passenger cars since 2017; rapidly adopted in North America and Asia
